Rabbi Jonny Hughes grew up in Reading and later graduated with a law degree from University College London (UCL). He then studied for eight years in Yeshivas Midrash Shmuel,Jerusalem where he received rabbinical ordination from the Rosh Yeshiva, HaRav Binyomin Moskovitz and HaRav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg. In 2010, he published his first book entitled, ‘Understanding Reb Chaim’ – a comprehensive elucidation in English of the writings of Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik of Brisk’s analysis of Maimonides. He is about to publish his second work on the writings of Rabbi Elchonon Wasserman. His talents also extend to songwriting with two albums to his name, as well as previously being on the books at both Swindon Town and Reading Football Club Academies.
